| 内容記述 | 女性小学校長第１号の登用とキャリアについては，量的・質的調査に基づき，高野（1999，2006）により概ね明らかにされている。しかし，中学校・高等学校の女性校長第１号の登用状況についての検討（高野，2014）はされているが，都道府県において第１号役割を担った者への質的データによる登用の契機やキャリアについては，これまで殆ど論じられていない。そこで，本稿は，女性公立中学校・高等学校長第１号に焦点を当て，３県４人への質的調査（インタビュー調査）による語りを分析の軸として，何が女性初としての登用の契機となっていたか，そして第１号はどのようなキャリアを有していたか等について明らかにすることを目的とする。結果，４人の第１号は，家庭科教諭として職業生活のスタートを切り，プレ管理職期として指導主事等の行政職経験を有し，且つ，「存在力」・「めぐり会い」・「受容の決断の潔さ」が総合的に備わっていたことを実証的に論じた。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | The appointment and career paths of female elementary school principals in Japan have been generally described by Takano （1999, 2006） on the basis of quantitative and qualitative research. Although studies on the appointment of the first female principals in middle and high schools have been conducted （Takano, 2014）, there have almost been no discussions on the appointment opportunities and careers based on the qualitative data of the women taking on the role of the first female principals. Therefore, this study focuses on the first female principals in public middle and high schools in Japan. By analyzing the narratives from qualitative research （interviews） of four principals from three prefectures, this study aims to describe what the appointment opportunities were for the first women principles and the kind of careers they had. The Results empirically discussed how the four first female principals began their careers as home economics teachers; had administrative job experience, such as supervisory positions during their premanagement period; and were also generally equipped with a strong presence, fortunate happenstance, and decisiveness in decision-making. | |||||
