Twelve subjects (4 men and 8 women) were fitted with 19 small inertial sensors kept in place with straps on various parts of their body. Subjects performed a back hip circle on the horizontal bar, and the motion was captured. Angles of joints of the body were measured when initiating a back hip circle. Six subjects successfully completed a back hip circle (the S group) while the remaining subjects were unable to perform the motion (the N group). Motion analysis revealed that the S group had a greater angle of hip flexion on the starting leg, extended shoulders, balanced movement of both arms, and slight retroflexion of the head in comparison to the N group.
