Following the trial, semi-structured interviews were conducted of two supporters each of associations of childcare workers and the elderly. The interview content was analyzed using the Steps for Coding and Theorization method. The results suggested that the program was useful, based on the following points. (1) The cooperative activity of the young children and elderly individuals increased self-esteem in both groups. (2) The beanbag play encouraged contact with others, and the difficulty of the activity was easily adjusted as appropriate to the developmental and physical status of the participants. (3) Accompaniment by music and singing increased enjoyment of\nthe activity, and matching the beat and rhythm of music facilitated the cooperative activity.\n　When implementing such programs in the future, (1) it will be important to specify an activity appropriate for the participants and (2) it would be advisable to hold a preliminary activity to familiarize the participants with beanbag play. Moreover, attention should be drawn to beanbag safety and hygiene management and assistance should be provided in making beanbags so that the children engage in beanbag play after the
