What types of language activities deepen musical thought and contribute to learning in a music program? To consider these concepts, this paper uses three examples of “written descriptions of music that was heard” by children to analyze the question of how children inherently describe music. The results of the analysis are as follows: 1. Words that have a high level of abstraction and are applicable to various specific examples, such as “amazing” and “beautiful”, are frequently used. 2. When children want to provide a more detailed description, they use adjectives with a narrower range of meaning. However, in cases where they do not have the appropriate vocabulary, they use metaphors or describe situations or scenes where they might have experienced the same kind of feeling or sensation. 3. However, the focus of these descriptions is heavily influenced by the characteristics of the performers and the particular piece of music, as well as by the written instructions they are given when asked for a description. It is therefore important that teachers precisely define the aspects of the musical experience on which they want the children’s thoughts to be focused before they organize language activities., 5, KJ00009316699}, pages = {15--25}, title = {「音楽鑑賞文」にみる児童の「音楽の語りかた」の分析}, volume = {6}, year = {2014} }
