As a result, we were able to identify 10 species in 9 families. While the Japanese squirrel and Japanese shrew-mole, present on the Chiba Prefecture Red List, were confirmed, black rats, raccoons, masked palm civets, and domestic cats, designated as alien species by Chiba Prefecture, were found with high frequency. The absence of these alien species is desirable for maintaining the university’s ecosystem, especially the “Uekusa Symbiotic Forest,” which is modeled after a Satoyama ecosystem. In particular, it is recommended that raccoons, damage by which has been reported in various parts of Japan and have been designated as a Specified Alien Species by the Ministry of the Environment, be actively hunted. In addition to this, monitoring is also considered necessary for wild boars, Reeves’s muntjaces, Japanese deer, and Japanese macaques, which are thought to have the potential to invade the area in the future., 6, uetdai-15_05_m_hayakawa.pdf}, pages = {45--54}, title = {2019-2022年に植草学園大学構内で確認された哺乳類}, volume = {15}, year = {2023} }
