The subjects of the survey were 479 university students (male: 194; female: 285). Path analysis by structural equation modeling revealed that the valuing of friends mediated the subscales of motivational adjustment strategies and had a significant effect on learning effect. It was also shown that the valuing of friends mediated conflict-solving efficacy positively for emotional engagement and negatively for lack of sustainability in learning.
