From the results, it was determined that over 80% of students liked home economics, and retained pleasant memories of cooking or sewing practice. However, when asked if they liked only sewing classes, less than 60% answered in the affirmative. Additionally, the survey found that only 30% students could back stich and halfback stitch or knew the names of these stitches, while some students not only could not sew overcast but also lacked knowledge of the name. In this survey results showed that it is difficult to have well-established basic hand-stitching skills.\n An opaque projector which could show a magnified image of the instructor\u0027s fingertips at various stages was used to teach students how to sew. Afterward, the instructor taught individual students while walking around the class. Survey results showed that with these practical approaches, students\u0027 skills in hand-stitching improved. In addition, enthusiasm for sewing improved by having students make a practice cloth.
